Giving back to the Community: Service Projects
A big part of being a scout is giving back to the community and Pack 1655 participates in several service projects throughout the year. Wreaths Across America is an annual event that honors fallen soldiers from the United States military. Wreaths are placed at the gravesite of those soldiers and respect is paid by a ceremony. This is a nation wide event that the scouts can participate in.
We also participate in the annual Scouting for Food event. The scouts hang flyers on doors and a week later, gather the donations at the doorstep and deliver to a food pantry. It is a great way to learn about caring for each other and helping out.
We also do a few small jobs and improvements for Kuehnle Elementary, our charter partner, throughout the year in thanks.
More information will be provided as we get closer to these events.
Other service projects are being considered for this year.
